Privacy

This is a personal site. I'm Chase Moore, a law student, and I built the things here — the daily question sets, the essays, the GPA calculator, the Class Planner — mostly for my classmates. This page explains what the site collects and what happens to it.
What I collect
If you fill out a form. The contact form collects your name, email address, and message. The subscribe form collects your email address, the courses you select, and how you want your emails timed. Each email also has a preferences link; that page lets you change those selections or unsubscribe, and it sends your email address, your updated choices, and a signed token from the link that confirms the request is really coming from you. That's it — I don't ask for anything else.
The tools don't collect anything. The GPA calculator and the Class Planner save your entries in your own browser using local storage. That data never leaves your device and never reaches me. Clearing your browser data erases it.
Who else is involved
A few third parties are part of how the site works:
- Netlify hosts the site and receives the subscribe and preferences form submissions. Their privacy policy governs what they do with that.
- Google reCAPTCHA protects the forms from bots. It runs on Google's infrastructure and is subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces, which means your browser requests them from Google when a page loads.
- Resend delivers the study emails. When a message goes out to you, your email address passes through Resend for delivery, subject to their privacy policy.
Your subscription — your email address and your preferences — is stored on a server I run, not with a third-party newsletter service, and I use it only to send the study emails you asked for. I don't sell anything, run ads, or share your information with anyone beyond what's listed here.
How long I keep things / Unsubscribing
Form submissions stay until you ask me to delete them. Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email contact@chasemoore.com and I'll take you off the list and remove your information.
COPPA
Federal law (COPPA) requires sites to say this, so: this site is built for law students, isn't directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top.
